Staff Meeting / Department Meeting etc. Helper / Parent Information Session Consultation / Review Of Program Full Day 7-8 Hour Inservice Reflective Course / Review of Program - 3 hours Afternoon / Evening Inservice Two Day Inservice - 4 hours each day (Two Evening Inservice) (Not available outside the Canterbury area) Should a school wish to host a PMP course, there are two options. Option 1:

1. The host school provides venue, lunch, photocopying costs whiteboard, CD player, screen.
2. The host school is welcome to invite other schools and charge for their attendance to help cover costs.
3. A flat fee, plus travel and accommodation is charged for the day.

Option 2:

1. The host school is gifted 2-3 free places on the course.
2. The host school is asked to organize catering.
3. Advertising, lunch, photocopying and other costs are the responsibility of Moving Smart.

Other Inservice Arrangements
Special arrangements can be made for longer/shorter, more intensive inservice programs or combinations of any of the above. Full day programs may be conducted on any day including weekends if required.

Schools wishing to arrange full inservice programs, either as a full day, afternoon / evening, or two evenings, frequently find that other schools in their area are also interested in the inservice. The host school charges a fee to other participants, thus helping to defray the cost to the host school. The host school takes responsibility for all advertising, collection of monies and provision of refreshments.

Preschool Learning to Move, Moving To Learn Course

This course is designed to help teachers understand motor development in detail from primitive reflexes upwards, and to give practical ideas of how to include appropriate age related activities into the preschool programme.

There are two parts to this course: Part 1-6 hours: Understanding Integration and how an active child helps grow and prepare the brain. Primitive reflexes - where movement begins. Skill techniques - sequential development and how to teach new skills. Memory training Developing language through the doing Practical ideas and resources that would be beneficial for use in the preschool environment. Resources what to buy and ideas for making and using cheap, practical resources.

Part 2 - 6 Hours:

• Fundamental Movement Patterns - locomotion, stability, manipulation.
• Motor outcomes for outside and inside play.
• Planning stations and challenge courses
• Equipment for indoor and ourdoor play.
• Indoor games - some ideas
• Resources
• Resources what to buy and ideas for making and using cheap, practical resources.
